The Regional Hospital of la Citadelle is the first hospital to have equipped a paediatric ward with the DocToon system and thus to be able to participate in this experience which is a first in the world.

The pilot scheme was launched on April 1st 1998 in paediatric ward 57.

This project set out to draw scientific observations supporting this experiment to attempt to understand the psychological mechanisms implemented or activated by DocToon and to evaluate the benefits, for the children and the nursing team, from its use.

Since January 1999, after the experimentation period, the Regional Hospital of la Citadelle purchased the DocToon material and its technical installation. A second paediatric ward (room 59) was equipped on March 6th 2002.
