DocToon can, within a hospital,
present himself on the screen of any television linked to the system.
This character, who "came from the planet April in a flying saucer",
is a computer-generated puppet, designed and created on the computer.
He was drawn in three dimensions, which gives him the appearance of an
animated and lively puppet.
In another room, a psychologist-animator is alerted on the screen of his
PC to the call of a child. He can also select for himself the children
to whom he wishes, where appropriate, to send a message.
Video paths (which are only connected with the express permission of
the parents) enable him, for the period of the conversation, to see the
child he is communicating with (it should be noted that this point, among
others, is subject to an ethical
charter which all adults using DocToon
must respect).
The animator converses with the child through the mouth of DocToon,
using a microphone, keyboard and animation table. Technology ensures synchronisation
of the character's lip movements with the voice of his animator, transformed
en route to give an extraterrestrial aspect to the character.
Technology also permits a large range of expressions, attitudes and emotions
to be used to give DocToon all the characteristics
of a real person. DocToon speaks, moves and
changes expression.
Doctoon's technology is designed by NeuroTV.
